Best Reds Where?

Remember the three “Temperature” climates?  The ranges are the same for red varietals:

Cool:                Average below 62o F / 16.5o C

Moderate:         Average between 62o F / 16.5o C and 65o F / 18.5o C

Warm:              Average between 65o F / 18.5o C and 70o F / 21o C

DOMSOM has created a red grape reference tool identifying which red grapes prefer which climate.  As with whites, some red varietals grow well in multiple climates and will be listed in each of these climates.  Many varietals not covered by this course are also listed for you to try on your own:
