Riesling Climate Influences

Climate Influences:

Cool Climate:  Cool climate vineyards allow Riesling to thrive and maintain ripe citrus (lemon, grapefruit) flavors paired with bracing acidity.  When harvested at just-ripe, floral notes and fresh cut grass pair perfectly with the tartness of the fruit forward citrus.  Light in body, this style will be fresh, crisp and clean.

Moderate Climate:  While Riesling can be grown with success in moderate climates, flavor notes will shift from bright, tart citrus to riper peach flavors and even some tropical fruits including melon and pineapple.  Acidity will remain high even in moderate climates maintaining a light body, but will be somewhat subdued by the stone fruit and tropical fruit flavors.
